For the last three years, You Have the Power has participated in the Country Music Marathon, and we would invite you to join our team!  The marathon will be held on April 26th, 2008 in Nashville, TN.

Your participation can take one of two forms.  You can literally put on your running or walking shoes and join the You Have the Power team either in the full (26.2 miles) or half (13.1 miles) marathon.  The majority of the YHTP team will be walking the half; however, we know that we have some avid runners who support us, and we want you to participate as well.  As a participant in the marathon, you will need to register on-line by April 18th or in person at the Expo which will be on April 24th and 25th at the Nashville Convention Center.  You can register on-line by visiting http://www.cmmarathon.com/home.html.  On-line registration fees are $75 for the half marathon and $85 for the full marathon until 12/31/07.  After that, fees are $90 for the half and $95 for the full marathon.  On-site registration fees are $110 for the half and $110 for the full marathon.  If you choose to join the team, we ask that you secure sponsors who will support your participation through a monetary tax deductible gift to You Have the Power.  These supporters may be your family, friends, place of business, church, etc.  The person who raises the most money for You Have the Power will receive a prize basket containing gift certificates and other goodies including a famous Verna Wyatt cheesecake. 

The second way you can participate is by becoming a supporter of the You Have the Power team.  All three full-time staff members, and our President, Andrea Conte, plan to participate in the event that day, and you can support our efforts by making a monetary donation to support us as we walk the half Marathon.  If you prefer this option, please mail a check to the attention of Valerie Craig and put CMM in the memo line.  Our mailing address is 2814 12th Avenue South, Suite 211, Nashville, TN 37204.

All money received through the You Have the Power team is tax deductible and will go to support the works of You Have the Power.  Last year, we raised over $6,000 for You Have the Power through this event, and this year we are hoping to raise even more.  You can help make this possible.
