Presentations are generally appropriate for adults; however, in some cases, they can be modified for young adults. Presentations have been given to day care providers, teachers, hospital personnel, law enforcement, civic groups, general community members, elected officials, parent groups, churches, etc. Certificates of attendance are available.

1. Child Sexual Abuse
Before the age of 18, one in four girls and one in seven boys will be sexually abused. Learn how to protect and identify these children by learning the predators’ behavior, signs and symptoms, appropriate responses and who is available to assist. This program is qualified to meet daycare requirements set by DHS.
2. Domestic Violence
Every 15 seconds a woman is beaten by an intimate partner. Participants will learn about signs and symptoms, the effects on the children, how to appropriately respond, and what services are available in the community. This presentation is available with an emphasis for the medical community as well.
3. Elder Abuse
Known as the silent epidemic, it is estimated that over 5% of the elderly population are abused annually. Learn about the different types of elder abuse, how to identify these victims, and how to effectively intervene.
4. Internet Dangers
The Internet is the newest tool being used by predators to reach children and young adults. Learn how to help protect children from this threat!
5. Dangers of Methamphetamine
Learn about this drug that is taking the country by storm including how to identify a possible meth lab and how to respond appropriately.
6. The Other Side of Death Row
Tennessee typically has between 80 and 90 inmates on death row. Each inmate has a victim. Learn what the surviving family and friends must endure as their case goes through the criminal justice system.
7. Understanding Sex Offender Behavior
If we ever hope to end sexual violence, it is imperative to understand the people and behaviors that motivate this crime. This presentation addresses the behaviors of both child and adult sex offenders.
8. Impact of Domestic Violence on Children
Children raised in domestic violence are 15 times more likely to be physically or sexually abused and/or seriously neglected than children raised in non-domestic violence homes. The results of this violence on children can be overwhelming and should be viewed as a serious public health problem as it is often the beginning of the cycle of violence. Learn about this impact and how to help these children.
9. I Never Thought It Was Rape
1 in 4 women will be raped by the time they reach 25. Many of these rapes are committed by someone the victim knows. Learn about the issue of acquaintance rape and consent and the impact this has on the victim.
10. Understanding the Impact of Crime and Crime Victims’ Rights
Violent crime touches everybody. At some point during our life span, everyone will either be a victim of a violent crime or will know someone who is. It’s important for us to arm ourselves with knowledge so we can understand this epidemic and respond appropriately when it happens. This presentation will provide a general overview of crime, the impact on victims’ and their rights.
