Advocate

You Have the Power’s foremost purpose is as an advocate for victims of crime.

Violent crime can rob a victim of hope; we help people affected by crime understand both their rights and their options. We work to make sure their voice is heard and help survivors of crime become advocates for themselves and others like them.

YHTP advocacy
One of YHTP’s community partners is the Nashville Coalition against Domestic Violence. Every year our staff and volunteers help out at their “Meet Us at the Bridge” event honoring DV advocates and commemorating victims. This is a photo from the 2018 event on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville.

Through our partnership with other agencies, we help people affected by violent crime understand both their rights and their options, navigating the complicated judicial and social services landscape.

YHTP is also involved with advocacy efforts on local, state, and national levels, working with agencies, organizations, schools, and governments across the United States to secure better outcomes for victims of violent crime.

Thank you and your organization for supporting our legislation… Tennessee women and kids will be safer because of your support.
