You Have the Power and more of Tennessee’s expert organizations will present a program on the topic of sexual assault prevention at the Urban Child Institute on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM as part of their ongoing programming. There is no cost to attend!

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this community safety presentation. The media is also welcome to attend. Attendees will learn how to identify signs of inappropriate behavior, correctly report suspected behavior, and become aware of available resources and tactics for prevention. This program is funded under an agreement with the state of Tennessee and is underwritten by a grant from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).

Opening the discussion will be a viewing of “I Never Thought It Was Rape,” an informative documentary produced by You Have the Power and featuring testimony from several survivors of sexual assault. Following the documentary will be a panel discussion in which attendees will be able to ask questions of local law enforcement, experts, and survivors.

Though there is no cost to attend, preregistration is encouraged due to limited space. The registration page can be found by clicking here. If you are registered but not sure if you can attend, please call Veronica Clark at (615) 292-7027.
